Dukes drop 1B semifinal game, 62-52

Cumberland County High School’s No. 3-seeded varsity boys basketball team lost 62-52 to host No. 2 Sussex Central High School Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Region 1B Tournament semifinals. Dukes Head Coach Tyrone Mosby said unforced turnovers were the deciding factor of the game. Cumberland junior Javon Marion, pictured above, led his team with 17 points to go with four boards and one steal. The Dukes ended with a 9-11 record, placing fifth in the district and third in the region.
