The Cumberland School Board recognized members of the Cumberland Alumni Basketball Committee during its regular meeting Thursday, Feb. 6. Members of the Alumni Committee, composed primarily of former basketball players and/or coaches/sponsors, have raised money to support the athletes and the basketball program. A portion of the money raised is used to purchase equipment for the teams. The remaining money is used to provide scholarships to athletes. The committee is composed of Gary Austin, Iris Langhorne Brown, Kesha Brown, Barbara Gamage, Travis Gilliam, Jeff Scales, Michael Scales and Ron Spears.
