Eagles celebrate Veterans Day at PECMS

On Monday, Nov.11, Prince Edward County Middle School (PECMS) students hosted area veterans at the middle school’s annual Veterans Day Celebration. Each year the PECMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society hosts this event. Under the supervision of their adviser, civics and economics teacher Adam Wolf, students coordinated a ceremony to honor local heroes’ sacrifices. Following the event veterans attended a small reception with students. Pictured are, from left, Uriah Coleman, Layla Edmonds, Cheri Hill, Tom McBride, ZaRonica Perkins, Leighton Folz, Isaiah Leonard, Fred Hill, Judy Chantelois, Vivian Gearheart and Dean Lord. We commend PECMS students for the continued support and appreciation of area veterans. (Send “Way to Go!” photos with a description and names to WayToGo@FarmvilleHerald.com.)
