William Gordon Estes Sr., age 99 of Rice, Va., went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2019.

He is preceded in death by his first wife; Lucille Gills Estes, and is survived by his wife; Cheryl; sons; William Gordon Estes, Jr. (Sandi), of Lynchburg, Auburn F. Estes (Lynne) of Rice, Howard Miles Estes (Lynn) of Farmville, Tommy Joe Estes (Teresa) of Farmville, and Michael Locke (Pam) of Keysville, ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday April 4, at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 25450 E. Saylers Creek Road, Jetersville, with burial with military honors in the church cemetery. Visiting at the Hillsman-Hix Funeral Home, 16409 Court St., Amelia from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
