Francis S. Bond

Francis S. BondFrancis S. Bond, 95, died Saturday, March 23, in Parham Doctors Hospital in Richmond. 

Mr. Bond, born in Floyd County and lived most of his life in Richmond. He was the son of the late Isaac and Ada Bond. 

He served during the Korean War and was a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia. Mr. Bond loved spending time with his family and was an avid HAM Radio Operator and a journalist. 

Survivors are his wife, Dell Bond, married 68 years; son, Marshall (Patricia) Bond of Richmond Hill, Georgia; his grandchildren, Alexander (Paige) Bond of Fairfield, Ohio and Tyler (Diana) Bond of Dublin, Georgia and three great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. 

The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at Shorter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville. The burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens. 

Shorter Funeral Home is serving the family.
