Tigers take third at ODAC Swimming Championships

Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) swimming team placed third out of 10 teams at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship meet Friday, breaking nine school records in the process.

Washington and Lee University won with 1,035.5 points. The Tigers compiled 406 points.

H-SC freshman Zach Stephan set three new individual school records and was part of four record-setting relay teams. Freshman Eric Hope was part of three relay teams that established new school records. Freshman A.J. Howard was responsible for five records — one individual and four relay.

The quartet of Stephan, sophomore Brandon Koch, Hope and Howard posted a school-record time of 1:29.44 in the 200-yard freestyle relay to place fifth.
