Elbert Wilson Taylor Jr., 70, of Dillwyn, passed peacefully on July 8, 2020 in Lynchburg. He was born November 1, 1949 in Buckingham County, the only child of the late Elbert W. Taylor Sr. and Ada S. Taylor.

He is survived by his son, Herman “PeeWee” M. Taylor and his wife, Holly; his daughter, Melissa T. Wood; four grandchildren, Colby Taylor (Amber), Dylan Wood (Caitlyn), Cadence and Carter Taylor; special family members, Danny and Courtney Shumaker.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Wayne Wood.

Wilson was an active member of First Baptist Church, Dillwyn, serving on several committees and the Deacon Board, until the decline in his health prevented him from attending. Graveside service was held on July 11, 2020 at the Buckingham Community Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands of First Baptist Church.
