Harold Johnson Word Sr., 87 of Farmville, Virginia, departed this Earth to be with his Heavenly Father on July 3, 2020. He leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years Naomi Gillespie Word. Also surviving include 3 sons: Harold Jr. (Joyce), Randy (Betty), Kirk (Cathy), 5 grandchildren: Mark, Brad, Scott, Patrick, Blake and 9 great grandchildren, sister Lucy Shorter and a brother Vernon Word. Harold served his country in the US Army and served his Lord in all his actions. He was a great man of faith and was kind, faithful and generous to all. He will be missed greatly by his family and anyone lucky enough to have known him. Memorial contributions may be made to Centra Hospice or Heritage Baptist Church. A memorial service was held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. The Family received friends 1 hour prior to service at the funeral home.
