Buckingham Baptist Church located at 24234 North James Madison Highway in the Goldhill Area of New Canton will be hosting a drive-in service at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 5.
All those planning to attend the service should drive into the parking lot and remain in their cars throughout the service, having no contact with individuals while there and must leave following the service.
Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland will be hosting an in-house worship service Sunday, July 5, at 9 a.m. for those 60 years and older. Those 59 years and younger will attend the in-house worship service at 11 a.m. Those attending the in-house worship services must sit with their families and remain six feet apart from other individuals or families. Those who are attending one or the other of these services, and still feel uncomfortable going in, may remain in their cars and tune their car radio to FM 87.9 to hear the service. Also at 6 p.m., there will be a drive-in parking lot service for all ages. Those planning to attend the service should drive into the parking lot and remain in their cars or sit outside their vehicles with a lawn chair with their families.
Our sympathy is sent out this week to the Bowman family of Rice. Riley David Bowman Sr., age 88 of Rice, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 22. He will be missed by his friends and family
Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 6277 Cartersville Road located in New Canton, will be having a virtual VBS this year. The theme will be Rocky Railway. There will be five days of lessons and activities along with snacks the week of July 13 – 17. Activity packets may be picked up at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Saturday, July 11, from noon to 3 p.m. and Sunday, July 12, from noon to 3 p.m. Instructions and videos will be on the church website and can be accessed through Facebook for each day. The 2020 Five County Fair of Farmville has been canceled this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Victory Baptist Church located at 4339 Salem Road Spout Springs will be hosting an in- house worship service Sunday, July 5, beginning at 10 a.m., with bluegrass gospel music at its best featuring “The Old Time Gospel Singers” of Crewe. This will be followed by morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Families may sit together with distances of six feet from the next individual or family. People who are uncomfortable coming to this service may attend a drive-in parking lot service at 10:30 a.m.
