“Future of America’s Past” (FOAP) that focuses on Prince Edward County and the historic Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case will air Sunday, May 17, at 3:30 p.m. on PBS.
Sunday marks the 66th anniversary of the landmark case.
Hosted by historian and Pulitzer Prize/National Book Award finalist Ed Ayers, also known for his popular podcast, “BackStory,” FOAP aims to take viewers to the frontlines of American history. The show, written, produced and directed by husband and wife duo Lance Warren and Hannah Ayers, is part of a series produced in Virginia and distributed nationally on PBS member stations coast to coast.
Sunday’s episode, titled “School Interrupted,” documents the individuals dedicated to preserving the history of the desegregation crisis in Prince Edward County and remembering and learning from those that fought against the injustice of the past.
The episode will air on VPM at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
