Pictured is the Slate River batteau, one of many featured at June Jubilee on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Historic Village at Lee Wayside, two miles west of Sprouses Corner. The Slate River is one of about 21 batteux to participate in the 28th James River Batteau Festival that begins June 15 at Percival's Island in Lynchburg and ends at Maiden's Landing in Powhatan June 22.
