The Downtown Film Series committee announces Season 16 of the award-winning Stars Under The Stars. Begun as a Leadership Farmville project in 1997, the Series has brought over 40 timeless motion pictures back to the big screen for the Farmville and surrounding communities. Spanning all film eras and genres, the movies are presented in the grassy outdoor venue of the Downtown Crute Stage and have included such classics as Rear Window, High Noon, Casablanca, Grease, and many more.
The 16th season kicks off on June 14 with Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret in 1964's Viva Las Vegas (not rated). On July 12, Audrey Hepburn portrays a princess who sneaks off during a tour of Rome and meets newspaper reporter Gregory Peck in the romantic comedy, Roman Holiday (1953, not rated). And finishing out our Sweet 16th season on August 9 is Gene Wilder in the classic 1971 version of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (rated G).
