PROSPECT, May 7 – Mildred Florence Walden Flood, 96 of Prospect, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 in Farmville. She was born in Prince Edward County on November 25, 1916 to the late Mattie Morris and John Nathan Walden. She was married to the late Eugene Clifton Flood and was a homemaker.
She was the mother of the Reverend John E. Flood Sr. (Delores) of Prospect; two grandchildren, Michael Ray Flood (Bambi) and John E. “Bucky” Flood Jr. (Patricia) and five great-grandchildren, Samantha Nicole Flood, Austin Michael Flood, Christian Wade Flood, Dakota Ann Flood, and Skyler Leighann Flood and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Virginia Bryant, Morris Walden, Audrey Mae Walden and Luther Nathan Walden.
A funeral service was held Monday, May 6 in Bethel United Methodist Church, Dillwyn, with interment in the church cemetery.
