CUMBERLAND, May 7 – Buford Max Latham Sr., of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 with his loved ones by his side. He was 78. Mr. Latham was born on August 24, 1934 in Blount County, Tennessee.

He was retired from the Department of Transportation and an active member in his community. Among many things, he held his family, friends, Masonic brothers and church family close to his heart. He will be dearly remembered for his kind-heartedness and compassion.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth; son, Buford Latham Jr. and wife, Nancy; son, Thomas Latham and Charleene; daughter, Pamela White and husband, Kip; five beloved grandchildren, Michael (Laurie), James (Kristin), Matthew (Heather), Mary Beth and Kristen; two beloved great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley; sister, Virginia Jamerson and husband, Junior; brother, Ray Latham; brother, Larry Latham; sister-in-law, Patsy Latham; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Webber; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Tar Wallet Baptist Church on Sunday, May 5 with graveside services at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

Memorial donations may be made to Tar Wallet Baptist Church of Cumberland or Masonic Lodge #283 Building Fund of Cumberland.
