It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Women’s Ministry of Maysville Baptist Church in Buckingham Courthouse would like to welcome all ladies to an evening of fun and fellowship as they host their Annual Ladies Ornament Exchange on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Everyone is asked to bring a Christmas ornament to exchange. Buckingham County’s 29th Annual Community Tree Lighting will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. Bring in the holiday season with the lighting of the community tree and performances by Buckingham County Junior ROTC Color Guard and Megan Mullins singing the national anthem, Buckingham County pre-K students, and a visit from Santa. Historic Buckingham, Inc., Housewright Museum and Adams Museum, and “Music Through the Years,” will be open after the tree lighting and again on Dec. 7 and 8 from 1-4 p.m.

The Village Christmas Market will be held on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Dec. 8 from 1-4 p.m. at Historic Lee Wayside. Events are free of charge and lunch is available. Enjoy live music, period decorations, Foxfire wreaths, Amish baked goods, ornaments, jewelry, paintings, arts and crafts and much more.

The annual Christmas party at the Curdsville Community Center will be Monday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. Santa is bringing turkey, ham and dressing again this year, so bring a side dish or dessert. Enjoy Christmas carols, and invite friends and neighbors. The group will be collecting small gifts for Heritage Hall Nursing Center in Dillwyn. No food or candy please. The community center is located at 122 School Road.

The Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) of Concord Baptist Church is holding a Lottie Moon spaghetti dinner and program on Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the church’s fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. All proceeds go toward international missions. The church is located at the intersection of Francisco and Deer Run Roads at Sheppards.
