Wayland C. Keesee, 80 Of South Hill Dies January 30

SOUTH HILL, Feb. 2 – Wayland Counts Keesee, 80, of South Hill, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 in Duke Regional Hospital. He retired as a Transmission Construction Supervisor for what is now Dominion Virginia Power after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Jeanette Perkins Keesee; daughter, Patricia B. Trausneck of Charlotte, NC; five sons, Michael C. Keesee of Danville, Anthony E. Keesee of Winston-Salem, NC, J. Doug Keesee of Roanoke Rapids, NC, James Stuart Keesee of Mills River, NC, and Robert W. Keesee of South Hill; three sisters, Ann Campbell of Danville, Phyllis Hughes of Mechanicsville, and Faye Howard of Roxboro, NC; brother, Kenneth E. Keesee of Goldsboro, NC; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment in Dan River Baptist Church Cemetery near Halifax at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service.
