Burn ban adopted

According to a press release from the Buckingham County Utilities Department, the Buckingham Board of Supervisors, at its monthly meeting on Oct. 15, adopted an emergency ordinance prohibiting/ regulating open air burning on public and private property in the county.
The ordinance was adopted due to extremely dry weather conditions, the release cited.
The release highlighted that during said burn ban, all outdoor burning
and fires on both public and private property, including campfires and trash barrels, are prohibited. The emergency burn ban will remain
in effect for the next 60 days until the board modifies, rescinds or readopts the ordinance.

Davis stated on Monday that the burn ban is in effect until the BOS reconvenes and rescinds the ban.
