Central Virginia Arts will be hosting an artists reception on Friday, Oct. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at the Riverside Café, 522 N. Main St., Farmville. There will be savories and sweet bites as well as beverages. The public is welcome and the event is free.
There will be three CVA member artists displaying their works during October and November: Dean Lord, Donna McRae-Jones and Gidget Spencer.
Some of the artworks by Lord and McRae-Jones are being held over from the August-September show.
To that art, Spencer will be adding her works.
Spencer is a local artist/crafter and a real estate agent. Originally from California, she moved to Farmville in 1987. When she’s not working on selling real estate, she can be found crafting jewelry, rugs or painting. Spencer’s inspiration comes from life experiences. A book she might be reading and sometimes the medium she might be holding will speak to her. Art has allowed Spencer to express herself in her jewelry, paintings and other mediums.
