According to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corinne Geller, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has confirmed the identities of the family that were found deceased after a house fire in the 20300 block of James Anderson Highway on Sept. 16.
The Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 4:54 a.m. Monday alerting them to the fire. Volunteer fire departments from Arvonia, Buckingham, Dillwyn and Toga responded to the scene and arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.
The adult victims of the tragedy were confirmed to be Earl J. Booker, 56 and Colette N. Booker, 45.
Derek Tucker, who identified himself as the Booker’s son-in-law, stated earlier that the juvenile victim was the couple’s 10-year-old son, Nayquaris.
Geller explained that state police fire investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, including whether the origin is accidental or suspicious in nature. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up for the family members of the victims. The fundraiser can be accessed by visiting https://tinyurl.com/gofundmebookerfamily or by logging onto www.gofundme.com and searching “Booker Family Tragedy.”
