Founder of uNIQuelymade Shenika Eldridge hosted an inaugural book event in Dillwyn on July 25. Children and their families from Buckingham County and surrounding counties were invited to get two free books to promote literacy in the community. The first five children in attendance received a free Nahlij “Knowledge” permanent FACTs” T-shirt which was founded by 9-year-old Quadir Minor. Nahlij “Knowledge” permanent FACTs, the collection, represents something that no one can take away — knowledge. Inspiring youth to gain knowledge and apply pressure needed to be successful in life. T-shirts were available for purchase and a portion of the funds were donated to purchase supplies for Buckingham County Elementary School. The community collectively came together to support this event and organizers declared it was a huge success.
