A Buckingham youth died in a fatal two-vehicle accident Aug. 11 on Route 15 in the 20300 block in Buckingham County.
According to Virginia State Police Public Relations Director Corinne Geller, the accident occurred just after 3 a.m.
“A 2007 Chevrolet Uplander was traveling west on Route 671 when it crossed into the intersection with Route 15. The Chevrolet collided with a 2014 Ford Escape that was traveling north on Route 15. The impact of the crash caused the Uplander to run off the left side of the intersection, strike an embankment, a tree and then a building,” Geller said.
“The driver of the Chevrolet, Charles V. Elliott, 52, of New Canton, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt. His passenger, a 16-year-old Buckingham County male, was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene,” Geller said.
According to Geller, “The driver of the Ford, Crystal W. Jamerson, 42, of Buckingham, was not injured in the crash. She was wearing a seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
