Giles joins Sands Anderson law firm

Vivian Seay Giles has joined Sands Anderson PC, bringing with her an extensive background in local government, business and tax law, announced firm president Margaret F. Hardy. Giles will join Sands Anderson’s Government and Business Groups and will work primarily out of Sands Anderson’s Richmond office.

Giles represents and advises local government clients on matters including economic development, taxation, zoning, municipal finance and general legal counseling. With an LLM in Taxation, she also advises corporate clients on business and tax matters.

For the past seven years, Giles has served as county administrator and county attorney in Cumberland County. Prior to that, she worked as assistant attorney general and part-time Commonwealth’s attorney for Appomattox County. Her prior experience also includes operating her own law practice for 12 years and working in the tax department at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP.

“With her business acumen and governmental experience both as a manager and as an attorney, Vivian is uniquely qualified to provide legal counsel to our many governmental clients,” said Daniel M. Siegel, Government Group Leader at Sands Anderson.
