Spay and Neuter Services

The Central Virginia Humane Society-SPCA is on the receiving end of a grant from the Beath Foundation to help provide spay and neutering for dogs and cats at $10 each. Please note that if the animal does not have certification of a current rabies vaccination, there will be an additional $10 fee for that vaccination.

Due to the overwhelming response, the Beath Foundation has extended its grant funding through the end of March. To schedule pets at this subsidized rate, call Sandra Everson-Jones at (434)983-7387.

The animals must be brought to the CVAHS-SPCA Center the night before their scheduled appointment. Then, on the morning of the procedure, the animals are transported to the Jessica Beath Clinic, a spay/neuter clinic located at the Farrington Firehouse in Ashland. Later in the afternoon, they are picked up and brought back to the CVAHS-SPCA Center, which is located off Route 20, at 899 Buffalo Road.

Volunteers to help with this and other CVAHS-SPCA programs are needed. Moreover, because the CVAHS-SPCA cannot accept animals at the facility, the organization is also looking for volunteers willing to provide foster homes for rescues. For more information, call Sandra at (434)983-7387. Tax-deductible donations may be sent to CVAHS-SPCA, P. O. Box 429, Dillwyn, VA 23936.
