The Prospect Historical Society will meet Tuesday March 5, at 7:30 p.m. They welcome all.

On Monday the Special Blessings Mission Group of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church at Prospect met to make all kinds of items for some shut-ins. Those attending were Mrs. Shirley Fulcher, Mrs. Shirley Mottley, Mrs. Evelyn Shelton, Mrs. Jeannette Tarlton, and Ms. Pat Horn.

Many Hampden-Sydney fans attended the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament at Salem Civic Center last weekend. Hampden-Sydney lost in the Semi Finals again Randolph Macon. They received an invitation Monday to play in opening round in post-season play, which will be Saturday against Cabrini from Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey and Mrs. Julie Shield attended the Longwood Garden Club on Monday at the home of Walter and Joan Witschey in Hampden-Sydney. Peggy got a blue ribbon on a specimen of Hellebores. David Fowlkes presented a program on pruning roses, trees and shrubs.

Mrs. Betty Meadows visited with friends at the Watkins Center on Sunday afternoon.

Ms. E. Susan Campbell has returned home following several weeks in Laurel Mississippi where she welcomed her first grandchild, a granddaughter, Avery Elizabeth Waddell.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fulcher joined their granddaughter, Katie Toney and other family members on Saturday night at the Pizza Hut as they celebrated Katie's birthday.

Mrs. Flora Bolt was happy she attended the Farmville/Prince Edward Historical Society meeting last Tuesday as she won the door prize.

Mrs. Flora Bolt visited some friends, Mrs. Page Johnson, Mrs. Grace Taylor, Mrs. Dot Shumaker and Mrs. Ruth Southall Feb. 21 at Brookview.

On Sunday afternoon Mrs. Flora Bolt and son, Steve Bolt visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Gager. John is improving.

Neighbors, family and friends are praying for a speedy recovery for those that are sick at this time; Jenni Bolt, Howard Campbell, Mike Fulcher, Mrs. Tola Morgan, Leroy Fahrner, John Gager, and Bonnie Oswald.

Friends and neighbors are extending their heartfelt sympathy to the families of Mrs. Betty Jo Gates Bailey and Mr. Jonathan Pickett. These two will be greatly missed by all those that knew them.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Charles Klotzberger will be in the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Katherine Todd will be with them this week.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings. At 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
