The Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association (PEFYA) Belles all-star team defeated the Lunenburg Girls’ Softball All-Stars 16-9 on Monday to open its run in the 2019 Dixie Softball Belles District 1 Tournament in South Hill.

Meredith Schmidt pitched three innings for PEFYA and gave up two runs. Brooke Conwell pitched four innings and gave up seven runs.

On offense, Conwell went 3-for-3 at the plate, was hit by a pitch and scored four runs. Ava Thrasher went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
