The Virginia Cooperative Extension “Eat Smart Move More” was at the Farmerville Community Marketplace Saturday, June 22. According to a release, “Our aims are to support local agriculture while making healthy food available to all members of the surrounding communities at affordable prices, promote sustainable living practices, and foster community development.”

The SNAP-ED agent did a short Nutrition presentation and a food demonstration. There were activities for adults and children.

For those who use an EBT card SNAP dollars are doubled at the market due to a generous grant from Central Southside Hospital. The Farmville Community Market Place is located at 213 North St., Farmville.
