The graduating class of 1969 of Carter G. Woodson High School celebrated its 50th class reunion in Dillwyn on June 7-9. Students came from Delaware, Maryland and Georgia to join those in the area. Also in attendance were several former teachers: M. Fulmore Scruggs, D. Lowe, C. White, D. Leatherberry, M.Brown Shelton, E. Washington and Linda Paige, the Mayor of Dillwyn. Events included a meet and greet at Ellis Acres Park on Friday, a celebration banquet at the Carter G. Woodson Educational Complex on Saturday, and church at Ellis Acres Park on Sunday followed by lunch at Teresa’s Restaurant. It was a wonderful way to remember 50 years.
