Micheline Assunta Sworobuk, 89 of Rice, VA passed away on June 5, 2019. She was born on May 7, 1930 to the late Michael and Elena Catelli Baroni. She is a first generation Italian immigrant who married a Foreign Service Officer James C. Sworobuk. Together they began their lives in Buffalo, NY, lived overseas for several years and settled in the Washington D.C. area for 35 years. She enjoyed travel, art, music and spending time with family. Her Christian faith in Jesus Christ and love of family brought her the greatest joy in life.
She is survived by 2 son’s; Paul S. Sworobuk from Florida, David J. Sworobuk (Elizabeth) of Washington D.C., a daughter Jamis Dooley (James) of Rice, VA, a brother Paul; Baroni, a sister Joanne Kardosy, 11 grandchildren; James Paul Dooley, Benjamin Lee Dooley (Hannah), Ellen Moriah Dooley, David Shelton Dooley (Cayla), Mary Grace Dooley, Conrad Tirinnanzi, Jamie Sworobuk, Jedidiah Sworobuk, Jethro Sworobuk, Esther Sworobuk, Michael Paluso, 1 great-granddaughter Shiloh Paluso and a sister-in-law June Sworobuk. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Ida Kerski (Dan), Jill Smalley (Don) and brother-in-law Bill Kardosy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 3 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, June 10, at 2 p.m. in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring MD.
