Search team called for missing Farmville resident

Farmville Police Chief Andy Ellington reported that as of 2:45 p.m. Sunday, search teams are continuing to locate Deborah G. Ramsey, a missing Farmville resident.
Ellington said that a total of 12 teams are seeking to locate Ramsey, a white, 66-year-old woman with white or blonde hair believed to be wearing a burgundy shirt, black ski pants with flowers on side and black rain boots with polka dots.
He said that personnel searching for Ramsey include staff from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Region 3, Piedmont Search and Rescue, K9 Alert, Amherst County Search and Rescue and Black Diamond Search and Rescue.
Farmville Police Chief Andy Ellington said Deborah G. Ramsey, 66, was last seen Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Ellington said she lives at the Farmville Mobile Home Park, located off Industrial Park Road.
Ellington said Ramsey has health concerns, prompting the response for a search party.
He said a potential sighting may have also occurred Saturday evening, in which an individual was reported to be walking east coming onto West Third Street, in the vicinity of Merk’s Place and The Woodland Inc.
Ellington said if Ramsey is not located by tonight, that crews will seek to search for Ramsey overnight.
