OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Longwood University. This walk is a fundraising event that will grant the organization with resources to educate the Longwood and Farmville community about suicide prevention.

GOSPEL MUSIC EXPLOSION, 2 p.m. at Crystal Cathedral, 16764 Oak St., Dillwyn. This event is hosted by Farmville Habitat for Humanity and Buckingham Build. A love donation will be collected to benefit the Habitat Building Fund in Buckingham.
EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATION, 5:30-6:30 p.m. in observance of the Arbor Day Tree Give- Away at the Train Station in Farmville. Event is free and open to the public.
TRIBUTE TO ST. PATRICK, 6:30 p.m. at Oakwood UMC. Nancy Lewis will emcee an evening promising great local music, fun, fellowship and refreshments. Donations appreciated in support of Jacque Akasa, Congo Aviation Ministry – Stands for Oakwood’s Tone Chime group.

IN CONCERT, 3 p.m. at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church will be Sandy Creek Gospel Bluegrass Band. Refreshments will follow concert and all are welcome to attend. The church is located at 110 Rough Creek Road, 3 miles north of Phenix on U.S. Hwy. 727.

POTLUCK DINNER AND MEETING, 6:30 p.m. at the Curdsville community center. A program on Sears Roebuck catalogue homes will be presented by Jimmy Hurt, President of the Farmville historic society. Everyone is welcome. The center is located at 122 School Road, just off U.S. Route 15.

HOMEOWNER EDUCATION CLASS, Personal finances, 6-8 p.m. at Farmville United Methodist Church, 212 High St., Farmville. Dinner and child care provided. Free and open to the public. Space is limited. Register by calling (434) 394-3001. Sponsored by Habitat for Humanity.
BEEKEEPERS TO MEET, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe’s in Farmville. A living honeybee exhibit being created in Amazement Square in Lynchburg is the topic. YOUTH REVIVAL, at Midway, 837 Guinea Road, Farmville. Prayer and praise begins at 7 p.m. and revival at 7:30 p.m. Guest ministers are, Tuesday – Minister James Hurt; Wednesday – the Rev. Darlene Bland and Thursday – Minister Joseph Patterson. This year’s theme is “Bent, But Not Broken” with scripture reference from 2 Corinthians. All are welcome.

LENTEN SERVICE/ FREE LUNCHEON, noon-1 p.m. at Payne Memorial United Methodist Church, 1 Stony Point Road, Cumberland. The theme this year is “Season of Joy and Gladness.” The speaker will be the Rev. Lewis Brandt and the topic is Tribulation’s Joy. Lunch will be provided by members of the congregation.
LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPLORERS, 7-9 p.m. at the South Street Conference Center hosted by Farmville Police Department for ages 16-21 to experience police training firsthand. For more information call (434) 392-3332.

BATTLE OF THE BADGES BLOOD DRIVE, noon-6 p.m. hosted by the Farmville Police Department and the Farmville Fire Department at St. Johns Memorial Parish House, corner of High Street and George Street.
ARTISTS RECEPTION, 6-8 p.m. hosted by The Central Virginia Arts at the Riverside Café, 501 N. Main, Farmville. There will be three CVA member artists displaying their works during April and May — Sandra Breil, Mary Evlyn Upshaw and Janet Williams. There will be savories and sweet bites as well as beverages. The public is welcome and the event is free.
CABIN FILM SERIES, 7 p.m. featuring a free screening of the horror film “Mama,” at Longwood Cabin. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

MEN’S COFFEE CHAT, 8 a.m. at Farmville Baptist Church, in the fellowship hall. Men of all ages are welcome to join other men for an informal gathering with coffee, comradie and conversation.
ANNUAL SPRING FLING, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church in Cumberland featuring a yard sale, bake sale, Pork barbecue and Chicken.
AUCTION AND CHURCH YARD SALE, 10 a.m. at the ball field behind Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Buckingham. The auction will be conducted by Francisco Auction Co., Inc., Bill Talbert auctioneer. All proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund.
FREE CLOTHES CLOSET, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church, 2381 Axtell Road, Howardsville.
COMMEMORATION PROGRAM, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. of the anniversary of the Battles of Sailor’s Creek. Exhibits and displays can be seen at the Hillsman House.
STUDIO TOURS, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at two different locations: Richard and Deborah McClintock, 1001 Fourth Ave., Farmville or Lisa Hoffman, 988 Sulphur Spring Road, Prospect. Come meet the artists, see their work and ask questions about their work. Refreshments available.
MONTHLY MEETING, 1:30 p.m. of The Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. Guest speaker will be Mani Aguilar, Au.D., CCC-A Clinical Audiologist, Longwood University. The topic will be “Women’s Health: “Know About Your Hearing.” There will also be the presentation of awards for the American History Essay Contest winners.
