ARTISTS RECEPTION, 6-8 p.m. hosted by The Central Virginia Arts at the Riverside Café, 501 N. Main, Farmville. There will be three CVA member artists displaying their works during April and May — Sandra Breil, Mary Evlyn Upshaw and Janet Williams. There will be savories and sweet bites as well as beverages. The public is welcome and the event is free.

CABIN FILM SERIES, 7 p.m. featuring a free screening of the horror film “Mama,” at Longwood Cabin. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

MEN’S COFFEE CHAT, 8 a.m. at Farmville Baptist Church, in the fellowship hall. Men of all ages are welcome to join other men for an informal gathering with coffee, comradie and conversation.

ANNUAL SPRING FLING, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Antioch United Methodist Church in Cumberland featuring a yard sale, bake sale, Pork barbecue and Chicken.

AUCTION AND CHURCH YARD SALE, 10 a.m. at the ball field behind Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Buckingham. The auction will be conducted by Francisco Auction Co., Inc., Bill Talbert auctioneer. All proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund.

FREE CLOTHES CLOSET, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Goshen Baptist Church, 2381 Axtell Road, Howardsville.

COMMEMORATION PROGRAM, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. of the anniversary of the Battles of Sailor’s Creek. Exhibits and displays can be seen at the Hillsman House.

The topic will be “Women’s Health: “Know About Your Hearing.” There will also be the presentation of awards for the American History Essay Contest winners.
