Mrs. Trejo’s third grade class at Central Virginia Christian School brought history to life by hosting a living museum for other classes and parents to visit. Some famous Americans making an appearance in the museum included Betsy Ross, Laura Ingalls Wilder, George Washington Carver, Martin Luther King, Jr., Benjamin Franklin and Pocahontas.

The Curdsville Community Center will hold its next meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m. A program will be presented on the Sears Catalogue Homes by Jimmy Hurt, President of the Farmville Historic Society. Everyone is welcome. Bring a covered dish or a favorite dessert. The community center is located at 122 School Road on Route 633, just off U. S. Route 15.

The Buckingham County High School Alumni will be holding its sixth Annual Car and Bike Show April 27. Show begins at noon at Teresa’s Place in Dillwyn.

Auction and yard sale will be held Saturday, April 6, at the ball field behind the church. Sponsored by Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, Francisco Road (Route 636) starting at 10 a.m. This fundraiser benefits the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church scholarship fund.

Let’s recognize our cancer survivors with Painting the Town of Dillwyn Purple for the month of April and The Hope Day Program honoring cancer survivors and caregivers is Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m. at Ellis Acres Memorial Park at 245 Camden St., Dillwyn.

Summertime fun is right around the corner. Sign the young ones up for a fun experience at Holiday Lake 4-H Education Center June 14-16 for Cloverbud 4-H Camp. Youth will participate in activities such as swimming, game time and fun-filled classes. Cloverbud is designed to introduce children ages 5-8 to the 4-H camping experience. Cloverbuders will experience the fun and excitement of the 4-H camping program as they learn new things, sing camp songs and participate in hands-on activities. Buckingham High School after prom party is requesting help from adult volunteer chaperones April 13. The after prom party begins at midnight at the Main Street Lanes bowling alley in Farmville. Assistance is needed with general chaperoning, registering students in and signing them out, calling out prizes throughout the night, serving food and drinks, handing out T-shirts, and calling parents when the students leave before the party is over.
