Helen Louise Davis Yeatts, 89

JANUARY 10 – Helen Louise Davis Yeatts, 89, of Farmville, passed away peacefully at The Woodland (Holly Manor) on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. She was born in Pamplin, in Appomattox County, on July 8, 1923 the second child of Ada Lue Ferguson Davis and John Thomas Davis.

Mrs. Yeatts came to Farmville after WWII when her husband Harry began his career as a barber in town. She made countless friends and acquaintances during her years in Farmville as an integral part of the community and active member of the Farmville United Methodist Church. She had very happy memories of her role as a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Harry W. Yeatts Jr. and wife, Catherine F. Wingfield-Yeatts of Staunton, and Michael Dean Yeatts and wife, Barbara B. Yeatts of Sandy Hook; four grandchildren, Tabatha, Heather, Brandon and Emily; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 60 years, Harry William Yeatts and a brother, Embra Thomas Davis.

The family would like to thank the staff members at The Woodland, (Holly Manor and Brookview Lodge) for their help and compassion.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home.
