Daphne Lynn Hawkins Agee, 50

PROSPECT, January 3 – Daphne Lynn Hawkins Agee, 50, of Prospect, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. She is the wife of John Taylor Agee.

She was born in Farmville on July 25 1962 to Rudolph and Bernice Stiles Hawkins. She graduated from Prince Edward County Schools and furthered her education at Danville Community College, where she became a nurse. She loved her family, friends and all of her “children”. She worked in her community as a Farmville firefighter for five years and spent 20 years vol-unteering at the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad. She spent the last year fighting breast cancer but never stopped loving working in her community and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, John Taylor Agee; two sons, Foster Neal Collins and Christopher James Collins; parents, Rudolph and Bernice Hawkins and sister, Candice Wingfield.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home, with interment to fol-low at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.

Family will receive friends, Friday January 4, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
