Fork Union Food Drive

The cadets of Fork Union Military Academy started a food drive on the first of November, and when the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank truck rolled onto campus to collect the food, more than 5,572 pounds of canned and dry goods had been gathered by the students. It took 20 cadets working in bucket brigade style nearly an hour to load all of the food from the storage area into the truck. In the Upper School, Charlie Company (sophomores) took first place in the food drive, followed by Bravo Company (juniors) in second place, and Echo (freshmen) Company in third place. In the Middle School, Bravo Company took first place. Ultimately, though, it was not about competition but helping to put food on the tables of those in need.
