Winter storm watch in effect Saturday

A winter storm watch was announced for the region beginning during the day Saturday, according to reports from the National Weather Service (NWS) locations in Wakefield and Blacksburg.
The winter storm watch in Buckingham is scheduled from Saturday at 1 p.m. to Sunday at 7 p.m.
The winter storm watch in Cumberland and Prince Edward is scheduled from Saturday at noon to midnight on Monday.
Regionally, snowfall is expected to measure between 2-6 inches, though probabilistic readings in individual counties read up to 7 inches.
“A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel,” a report from the NWS cited. “Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.”
