An assault led to three being arrested for charges ranging from strangulation to abduction in Buckingham in December. A fourth arrest was made the same day.
Sheriff William “Bill” Kidd said the incident occurred at a residence in Goughtown Road in Buckingham Dec. 3.
According to the Buckingham County arrest report, Jeffrey Koczon, 22, was charged with abduction by force, intimidation or deception and robbery and mob: simple assault of battery.
Patrick Cox, 28, of Buckingham, was charged with robbery, mob: simple assault or battery, abduction: by force, intimidation or deception and strangulation.
Summer Hull, 26, of Buckingham, charged with robbery, mob: simple assault or battery, abduction: by force, and intimidation or deception.
Kidd said the female victim was assaulted and met a deputy at Midway Market to report the incident.
Kidd said the perpetrators prevented the victim from leaving the residence and stole $240 from her purse.
The sheriff said rescue was called to examine the victim, who had visible injuries to her face, left eye and marks around her neck. Kidd said the nail from her pinky finger had been torn off, and it appeared that the victim had hair pulled out.
Kidd said the victim and perpatrators knew one another. Kidd said he believed the incident was drug related. The police report, Kidd said, did not list the perpetrators being under the influence of any substance at the time of the assault, though said it could have been possible.
Kidd said the victim was wanted in Prince Edward County and was arrested for a separate incident Dec. 3.
