CREWE, December 4 — Julian Lee Hodges Sr., 83, of Crewe, fought a good fight but has gone to be with his Lord on Monday, December 1, 2014. He was born on November 29, 1931 to the late Semple G. and Gracie Mae Haley Hodges.
He is married to Bessie Marie Hodges and worked for NW Railroad for 42 years as freight, break line conductor until his retirement. He was a good man who loved to hunt and especially loved his family.
Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife, Bessie; four sons, Julian Lee Hodges Jr. of Farmville, Gary Wayne Hodges (Constance) of NC, James Edward Hodges (Sarah) of Stafford, and George Bradley Hodges (Michelle) of Orlando, FL; a daughter, Janet Leigh Nelson of Victoria; a brother, Harry Hodges (Annie) of NC; four sisters, Nancy Caldwell, Marie Oakley (Sam), Margaret Long (Rudy), and Brenda Coma (Butch); 12 grandchildren, Angel, Tammy, Jennifer, Jessika, Brad, Greg, Steven, Jacob, Blair, Nicole, Megan, and Brooke; and four great-grandchildren, Tamela, Steven, Jordon, and Skylar. He is preceded in death by Eugene Hodges of Florida.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice.
