Dennis Lee Spillman, 61

CUMBERLAND, December 2 — Dennis Lee Spillman, 61, of Cumberland, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. He was born on March 10, 1953 to Charles W. and Alice Guinn Spillman in Newport News.

Mr. Spillman was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He loved hunting, fishing and everything outdoors. He was a proud supporter of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation and Hunters for the Hungry. He will be dearly missed by all of those lucky enough to ever be a part of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Alice G. Spillman; his children, Melanie S. Rumsey of Cumberland, Mark Carrington Spillman (Melissa) of Cumberland, and Justin Lee Spillman of Appomattox; grandchildren, Victoria, Olivia, Madison, Grace, Gabe and Chase; a great-grandchild; Mackenzie; two brothers, Terry Spillman (Sandy) and Scotty Spillman of Cumberland; a sister, Susan Pembelton (Ray) of Amelia and “stepson” Peyton Edmondson of Rice. He is preceded in death by his older brother, Billy and his father, Charles who he now joins in heaven.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 29 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery.
