Police search for sex offender

Virginia State Police (VSP) officials is currently searching for a convicted sex offender who is wanted for failing to re-register as a sex offender in Buckingham County, according to an announcement from VSP Monday.

VSP’s Sex Offender Investigative Unit, according to the announcement, said it is requesting the public’s assistance to locate Domonique Michael Jerome Brown, 29, who is cited to frequent the Richmond and Roanoke regions.

Brown, according to VSP, is a black male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5-foot 10-inches in height and weighs approximately 260 pounds.

“Brown is a commercially-licensed truck driver and was last known to work for a trucking company in Roanoke,” Police cited. “He has previously lived on Guilder Lane in Richmond’s Southside.”

Brown was convicted May 2010 in Roanoke City Circuit Court. The statute of Brown’s case, according to the VSP Sex Offender Search Registry, is of Crimes Against Nature (Sodomy).

VSP officials said in the announcement that Brown registered a home address in the Arvonia area of Buckingham in October,

But state police determined he never established residency at that location, according to the announcement.
“Brown was last registered with the Virginia State Police in May of 2014 and is currently wanted in Buckingham County for failing to re-register as a sex offender,” the release cited.

Those with information about Brown’s whereabouts, according to the announcement, are encouraged to contact state police by using the “Tips” link. The “Tips” link can be accessed by locating Brown’s name on the Virginia State Police Sex Offender Registry search page, and clicking the icon below Brown’s photo that says “Tips.”
