On Tuesday, December 2, Hampden-Sydney College’s Department of Fine Arts will sponsor The Great One Man Commedia Epic featuring Matt Wilson, Founding Artistic Director of Faction of Fools Theatre Company. This performance is a comic “tour de farce” where a single actor brings to life an entire town of squabbling parents, dim-witted servants, and young lovers.

Faction of Fools Theatre Company celebrates Commedia dell’Arte in Washington, DC and around the world. This company preserves and promotes Renaissance theatre style by both respecting its heritage and exploring its future. In their performances, actor training, international initiatives, and educational outreach, Commedia dell’Arte is theatre at its best: physical discipline, spontaneous imagination, collaborative energy, and joyous wonder.

The Great One Man Commedia Epic begins at 8:00 PM in Winston Hall Commons and is free and open to the public. Matt will also lead a free and open workshop at 4:00 PM in Winston Hall.
