DECEMBER 14

OPEN HOUSE, 11 a.m-4 p.m. sponsored by Peter Francisco Soil and Water District located at the USDA Service Center at Sprouse’s Corner in Buckingham. Residents from Buckingham and Cumberland counties are welcome to come see what services the District and several partner agencies can offer them. Light refreshments will be served. VA DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS SERVICES, will be in Farmville, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Farmville-Prince Edward Library, 1303 West Third St., Farmville. Call the Lynchburg office at (434) 582-5102 with any questions.

DECEMBER 15

BRUNCH WITH SANTA, 10 a.m.-noon sponsored by The Randolph District Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary at the firehouse, 2145 Cumberland Road. The menu will be egg casserole, pancakes, juice and coffee. Bring your children to talk with Santa. Donate at the door to support the Fire Department.

OUTDOOR LIVE NATIVITY, 7 p.m. at Hobsons Chapel, 6483 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan. See the Reason for the Season in the inspirational play with live actors and animals. Refreshments served car side before the play and finger foods served inside after the play. All are welcome to fellowship and celebrate.

CHRISTMAS AT CLAYTON, 10 a.m-3 p.m. at Clayton Homes, Farmville. Enjoy pictures with Santa, stockings for children and a raffle. Everyone welcome.

PAMPLIN CHRISTMAS MARKET, 2 p.m. at the Pamplin Depot sponsored by High Bridge Trail State Park.

10TH PASTOR ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at The Gill Hill Baptist Church for their Pastor Isiah Hurt. The Rev. Charles Woolfolk of The White Oak Grove Baptist Church, Phenix will be the guest along with the White Oak Grove Baptist Mass Choir. Everyone welcome.

RIDE WITH A RANGER, 11 a.m. at Main Street Plaza, sponsored by High Bridge Trail State Park.

JOINT CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 2:30 p.m. with Mt. Moriah Upper Room Baptist Church and Gravel Hill Baptist Church at Mt. Moriah Upper Room Baptist Church at 1913 Tuggle Road. There will be a variety of poems, readings, songs, etc. All are welcome.

FREE CHRISTMAS CONCERT, 7 p.m. by the Heart of Virginia Community Band in Molnar Auditorium, in Wygal Hall at Longwood. Enjoy an evening of music of the season, secular and non-secular.

DE-STRESS ACTIVITY, 5-7 p.m. at Farmville and Buckingham Libraries for teens ages 13-18. This week impress the adults in your life by making a tile coaster that is gift-worthy.

CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE, 5:30 p.m. at Farmville Baptist Church, Farmville.

ANNUAL YOUTH CHRISTMAS SERVICE, 7 p.m. of the Midway Baptist Church Youth Ministry. The youth will be performing the play “The Legends of Christmas & Donuts.” Midway is located at 837 Guinea Road, Farmville. All are welcome.

STORY TIME, 10:3 –11:15 a.m. at Buckingham Library. Children ages 0-5 and an adult can listen to books, practice fingerplays and songs, and socialize with other families.

BIBLE STUDY, 7 p.m. at EMPOWERMENT Temple COGIC, formerly House of Prayer, 354 Wood Row Place, in Pamplin every Tuesday.

ADVENT SERVICE/ LUNCHEON, noon at Payne Memorial Methodist Church, Cumberland. The theme this year is “Surprises Along the Way.” Guest speaker, the Rev. Betty Lou Weaver and she will speak on the topic “God is Faithful.” All are welcome. The church is located at 1 Stoney Point Road, Cumberland.

CANTATA, 7 p.m. at Cartersville Baptist Church entitled “How Great Our Joy!” The cantata will tell the Christmas story in word and song.

12TH PASTOR ANNIVERSARY, 2 p.m. at Mercy Seat Baptist Church for pastor, the Rev. Walter M. Fells, Guest speaker will be the Rev. Marvin Fields of Second Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Caroline County accompanied by his deacons, choir, ushers and church family.

DECEMBER 23

GUEST PREACHER, 11 a.m. at Forest Baptist Church of Meherrin will be the Rev. Robert Waker of Richmond. All are welcome to attend.

SKIT/INTERACTIVE SERVICE, 3 p.m. at Tearwallet Baptist Church, Cumberland entitled The True Meaning of Christmas.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA, 11 a.m. at Oakwood UMC, 1291 Columbia Road, entitled Christmas Dreams. Following the Cantata, our monthly luncheon will take place. All are welcome.

WATCH NIGHT/CANDLELIGHT SERVICE,10 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. Join us as we thank God for the ending of one year and the new start of another.
