On Dec. 2, approximately 30 members of Concord Baptist Church in Sheppards traveled to Appomattox High School to attend a Ball Brothers concert as part of their Christmas tour. The Ball Brothers are a popular gospel singing quartet providing inspiration and hope as they spread the good news of the Gospel. Traveling worldwide, including appearances with the Gaither Vocal Band, the Ball Brothers share a beautiful message with incredible harmonies using their distinctive style of Christian music. The evening was a blessing to all those who attended. The concert was hosted by Bible Baptist Church in Appomattox and all proceeds from the evening went to the local Pregnancy Support Center.

Please note a change of the date of the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce House Tour. It has been rescheduled and will now take place on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. due to the possibility of inclement weather on the previously scheduled date. Any ticket holder who has a conflict may return their ticket prior to Saturday for a refund.

“Shape Up” Women’s Aerobics class will begin Jan. 8 at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Route 20 in Dillwyn. Open to women of all ages and fitness levels in the community. Child care provided. During the holiday season, it’s easy to get out of shape. Remember that Central Virginia Community Health Center has a gym that offers nearly daily classes to stay fit. Mondays are kickboxing at 6 p.m., Tuesdays at 11 a.m. feature a beginner exercise class, Wednesdays at 6 p.m. is yoga, and weight watchers is held on Thursdays at 2:45 with Tai Chi at 9:30 a.m. For more information, call (434) 581-3271, ext. 10601.

The Lottie Moon Dinner at Concord Baptist Church has been rescheduled for Sunday, Dec. 30 at 5 p.m. Concord Baptist Church is located at the intersection of Francisco and Deer Run Roads in Sheppards.
