Frank A. Tapscott

Frank Arthur Tapscott, 99, of Scottsville, died on Tuesday, November 27, 2018. He was a beloved husband, brother and uncle.

He was born on November 2, 1919, a son of the late Allan Walker and Annie Wellington (Adkins) Tapscott. He was married for 52 years to the late Doris Patteson Tapscott who preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers: Clifford, Alvin, Leroy, and Herman Tapscott; and two sisters: Edith Rush and Louise Templeton.

Survivors include two brothers-in-law: Riley and Rudd Patteson; many nieces and nephews, including two special nieces: Rhonda Maxey Bowman and Kimberly Maxey Rumsey; special friends: Barbara Teeple and Dale Davis; and a special hospice nurse: Ruth Hurley.

Frank was a lifelong farmer. He retired from the Nelson Tindall Corporation after 46+ years of service where he served as a farm equipment mechanic. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Frank never met a stranger and enjoyed conversations with many people. He enjoyed traveling and touring the country with Doris as they visited many National Parks and tourist attractions.

A funeral service was held at 2 pm, Sunday, December 2, at Sharon Baptist Church in Buckingham County. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
