DECEMBER 1
COMMUNITY PRAYER BREAKFAST, 8 a.m. at Jericho Baptist Church in Farmville. Enjoy an old fashioned country style breakfast followed by the preached word by Minister Eurika Tyree, associate minister at the Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome.
HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR, 8 a.m-2 p.m. at Cartersville Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1667 Cartersville Road. Gift items, arts and crafts and visit with Santa.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR, 9 a.m-1 p.m. at MacCallum More Museum and Gardens, Chase City. Crafts, food and more.
PRAYER BREAKFAST, 9 a.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church. The Rev. Dorothy Reid will be the speaker. All are welcome.
HOLIDAY SALE, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts. During the event there will be an ugly holiday sweater contest and a Design in Craft raffle with various prizes.
PORTRAIT PAINTING IN OIL WORKSHOP, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. sponsored by Central Virginia Arts, upstairs above Mainly Clay, 217 N. Main St., Farmville. The workshop is open to the public. Those interested should contact Deborah McClintock at (434) 223-8322.
WINTER WONDERLAND WORKSHOP, 10:30 a.m. in the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts at the intersection of Third Street & Main Street in historic downtown Farmville. This program is free and open to the public.

PRAYER LINE LIVE, 3 p.m. at Tearwallet Baptist Church, Cumberland. Everyone is welcome for a spirit filled afternoon of prayer and praise. Come as you are.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Gill Hill Baptist Church. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate with us on that day.

BEGINNING OF ADVENT, 11 a.m. with a modified Hanging of the Greens service at Oakwood UMC, 1291 Columbia Road. All are welcome.
GUEST MINISTER, 11 a.m. at The First Rock Baptist Church of Prospect will be the Rev. Cavell Phillips, gospel radio personality of 106.5 in Richmond.
FARMVILLE JAYCEES CHRISTMAS PARADE, 2 p.m. The 68th annual Jaycees Christmas parade in downtown Farmville, Main Street.
COMMONWEALTH CHORALE, 3 p.m. will present Johan Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio at College Church, 418 College Road, Hampden-Sydney. Free of charge.
NATIVITY IN ART, 3 p.m. at Hampden Sydney’s Atkinson Museum, sponsored by Central Virginia Arts by Barbara Rothermel from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The lecture is free and open to the public.
CANDLELIGHT SERVICE, 5 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Appomattox. Special guests will be the Rev. Rodney Sandidge and congregation of the Saint John Baptist Church in Norwood. The public is welcome.
HANGING OF THE GREENS, 7 p.m. at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church. Refreshments following the program.
DECEMBER 3
CHRISTMAS POTLUCK DINNER, 6:30 p.m. at the Curdsville Community Center. The choir from the Dillwyn Baptist church will be singing. Please bring a side dish or dessert. Also, we will be collecting small gifts for the nursing home in Dillwyn. Suggestions are unwrapped items such as socks, books or magazines in large print and hand cream. The Community Center is located at 122 School Road, just east of U.S. Route 15. Everyone is welcome.

HOLIDAY HOUSE TOUR 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Presented by the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce this year’s event includes seven homes, Longwood University’s Rotunda and the Centra Hospitality House. S’MORES AND SING, 5-7:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Lake Hall. Toasty coals will be ready for your marshmallows, and roasting sticks will be available. Smore-making kits available for a nominal donation. There will also be a craft table to create a free seasonal ornament. Throughout the evening, there will be opportunities to join in holiday-themed songs.

BRUNCH WITH SANTA, 10 a.m.-noon sponsored by The Randolph District Volunteer Fire Dept. and Auxiliary at the firehouse, 2145 Cumberland Road. The menu will be egg casserole, pancakes, juice and coffee. Bring your children to talk with Santa. Please donate at the door to support the Fire Department.
OUTDOOR LIVE NATIVITY, 7 p.m. at Hobsons Chapel, 6483 Old Buckingham Road, Powhatan. See the Reason for the Season in the inspirational play with live actors and animals. Refreshments served car side before the play and finger foods served inside after the play. All are welcome to fellowship and celebrate.

FREE CHRISTMAS CONCERT, 7 p.m. by the Heart of Virginia Community Band in Molnar Auditorium, in Wygal Hall at Longwood. Enjoy an evening of music of the season, secular and non-secular.
DECEMBER 18
ANNUAL YOUTH CHRISTMAS SERVICE, 7 p.m. of the Midway Baptist Church Youth Ministry. The youth will be performing the play “The Legends of Christmas & Donuts.” Midway is located at 837 Guinea Road, Farmville. All are welcome.
