Members of the Buckingham County Planning Commission has set a public hearing for an 8-unit campground scheduled for Dec. 17.
The unanimous vote was taken during the commission’s Nov. 19 meeting, Zoning/Planning Administrator Rebecca Cobb said.
The application for a special use permit for a campground holding eight Recreational Vehicle (RV) units was made by Brandy Thomas Meadows. According to the planning commission board packet, the proposed campground would be located on approximately 8 acres at 2101 Texas School Road in the James River Magisterial Districts.
Cobb said the application initially intended for the campground to be permanent and extend the focus to recreational use, but the campground has since been made temporary to include those who may be working in construction for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP). The campground would have similar conditions to previously proposed campgrounds, Cobb said.
