Gladys O. Fulcher, 88

PROSPECT, October 7 — Gladys Orange Fulcher, 88, of Prospect, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2014 in Farmville after a brief illness. She was born October 14, 1925 in Appomattox County, the daughter of the late Ernest Robert Orange and Bessie Goin Orange.

Mrs. Fulcher worked many years with Craddock–Terry Shoe Corporation and then worked and retired in 1990 for the United States Postal Service as a clerk for 19 years at the Prospect Post Office. She was treasurer of Prospect United Methodist church for 30 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Fulcher of Prospect; a brother, William “Willie” Orange also of Prospect; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Fulcher and a sister, Frances Orange Sanchez.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 7 at the Prospect United Methodist Church in Prospect with interment at Olive Branch United Methodist Church, Prospect.
