The monthly meeting of the Cumberland Garden Club was held at the Cumberland Public Library Sept. 25.

The program was presented by Master Gardener Cynthia Wood, member of the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners who is known for her columns in The Farmville Herald and other periodicals. She spoke about native and wild plants and how to introduce them to gardens. She emphasized that everyone interested in gardens should learn how to identify the plants growing in gardens and in the wild.

Members present were President Elaine Myers, Nell Spain, Pat Parker, Pat Allard, Claire Landis, Carolyn Foran, Janet Powers, Betty Brown, Hilda Nuckols, Barbara Daniels, Pat Adams and Carol Miller.
