Cedar Baptist Church, at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, welcomes everyone to its annual Harvest Festival on Sunday from noon-3 p.m. There will be hot dogs, soup, ice cream sundaes, bounce houses, hayrides, cake walks, face painting and more. Come out and bring the entire family for lots of fun and fellowship.
The Buckingham Public Library is hosting a pumpkin painting Saturday, Oct. 13. Come decorate a pumpkin to enter in the contest for a gift card to a local business.
The Buckingham Dillwyn Garden Club will meet Monday at the Curdsville Community Center beginning at 10 a.m. Following the business meeting, the members will mulch the youth gardens established by the Garden Club. The Curdsville Community Center is located at 122 School Road, directly off U.S. Route 15 at Curdsville.
A free estate planning seminar will be held Wednesday from 1:30- 4:30 p.m. at the BARN, 11851 W. James Anderson Hwy., Buckingham, presented by the Virginia Cooperative Extension. From this simple, comprehensive presentation, learn how to: retain control of your assets; avoid probate and minimize taxes in wealth and business transfer; make provisions for your surviving spouse; keep your affairs private and out of court; protect your estate from creditors, predators and disgruntled family members; conserve your assets from catastrophic illness; and understand wills, revocable living trusts and limited liability companies. Hill, Certified Public Accountant of Hill & Davis, CPA, PC; and David R. Wise, Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist of DavidWise.com Insurance, LLC. You will receive free planning materials, free opportunity to speak with featured speakers and free follow-up consultation. Refreshments will be served and seating is limited. Central Virginia Community Health Center is now offering a beginner exercise class held each Tuesday at 11 a.m. Come out and get started on your own health journey. Free use of the gym is also available this month on Oct. 12 and 27. For more information call (434) 581-3271, extension 10601.
Buckingham Triad will have a guest speaker and presentation from Centra PACE Oct. 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall on Route 60 in Buckingham County. The general public is welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
Buckingham Primary School is having a Title One program event Oct. 9 at 6:15 p.m. Come out and see a professional juggler do some awesome tricks that will certainly entertain you. Everyone is welcome.
The Buckingham High School FFA car and truck show scheduled for Oct. 6 has been canceled.
