Class reunions are so much fun. Wilbur Maxwell organized a reunion for the class of 1948 of Pamplin High School at Mimmo’s Restaurant in Charlotte Court House for Sunday afternoon Sept. 9. There were 11 members of the class of 1948; there are still five members living. Those present enjoyed a delightful lunch and talking about good old school days and some of the things that went on. In attendance were Hilda Allen, Wilbur Maxwell, Geraldine Ramson Mitchell and William Hix; one member was absent due to illness.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith hosted the monthly Faith Bible Fellowship, a small group meeting, at their home Monday evening. Attending were Hilde Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock and Mr. and Mrs. John Utzinger.

Flora Bolt attended the United Daughters of the Confederacy meeting Wednesday, Sept. 11. She always enjoys these meetings.

Sunday, Sept. 16 Steve Bolt and daughter Ashley Bolt honored his mother and her grandmother with a birthday party and luncheon at the home of Steve Bolt.

Those helping celebrate Flora’s birthday besides Steve and Ashley were Ron Peythress, Hailey Murdock, Payden Murdock Douglas, Betty Jean Bolt, Andrew and Stacey Goss, Kyle and Jeni Bolt and sons Joshua and Jacob, Sharon Canterbury, Jennifer Jones and son Thomas and Judy Bolt.

The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department is busy preparing for its Annual Harvest Sale the first Saturday of October. Do you have anything you want to get rid of? If so, call a member of the fire department. They need items for the auction.

The Prospect Historical Society will once again hold the Christmas decorating contest. The deadline for getting your application in is Dec. 4, with judging the next week.

Spring Creek Baptist Church is having its revival starting Sunday at 11 a.m. and continues each evening at 7 p.m. through Wednesday, Sept. 26. Speaker will be evangelist Garry Sims. Also, Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., there will be a free car wash and fall festival with bouncy house, games and much more. Everyone is welcome to both activities and bring a friend.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle welcomes you to worship with them each Sunday. William McGuire will be with them this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect welcomes you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville welcomes you to worship with them Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and each week Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The Church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
