Projects aplenty for commission

Two telecommunications towers, a retreat center, an antique store and an Recreational Vehicle (RV) campground are among the proposed projects the Buckingham County Planning Commission is set to hold public hearings on during a meeting Monday, Sept. 24.
The meeting is set to take place 7 p.m. at the County Administration Building Board Room at 13380 W. James Anderson Highway.
The first telecommunications tower is from applicant Shenandoah Mobile LLC, “Shentel,” according to a public notice of the meeting. The tower is proposed to be 195 feet with a 4-foot lightning rod on approximately 55 acres on River Ridge Road, Route 763 in the Slate River Magisterial District. The property is currently zoned Agricultural 1 (A-1). The applicant is requesting a special use permit with conditions.
E.E. and Vickie Talbott are listed as owners of the property.
The second telecommunications tower is from cellular company USCOC of Virginia RSA #3, Inc., for a 195-foot telecommunications tower with a 4-foot lightning road. The proposed tower would be located on approximately 5 acres on Seven Eleven Road, Route 711, in the Curdsville Magisterial District. The property is currently zoned A-1. The applicant is requesting a special use permit with conditions.

Applicant and Property Owner C&S Retreats LLC is seeking a special use permit with conditions for a private retreat facility on approximately 250 acres located on South Constitution Route, Route 20, in the Slate River Magisterial district. The property is currently zoned A-1.
Applicant and Property Owner Rebecca Herndon is requesting a special use permit with conditions for an antique shop, which would be located on a parcel of approximately 6 acres on North James Madison Highway in the Marshall Magisterial District. The property is zoned A-1.
Applicant and Owner Lloyd Buckingham Farm, LLC is requesting a special use permit for a 20-unit RV campground on approximately 205 acres located on Willow Lake Road in the James River and Maysville Magisterial districts.
